10-2

When it comes to school, we get a list of the supplies our children will need. The Bible is also a source to help tell us what our children will need to be successful in their school year and their life!

Here is the first of three ways we can prepare our child for school…

1. Encourage – To give support, confidence, and hope.
God encouraged his son before he was led off into the wilderness to face the Devil.
Matthew 3:17 “This is my beloved son in whom I Am well pleased”.

God encouraged Isaac after people kept filling up the wells he had dug with dirt.
Genesis 26:24 “And the Lord appeared unto him that same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father, fear not for I am with thee, and I will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abrahams sake”.

-David encouraged himself in the Lord.
1 Samuel 30:6 “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”

Everyone needs encouragement in their daily life. Encouragement comes from WORDS that are spoken:
-Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
-Psalm 107:2 “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”

-Ephesians 4:29 “Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.”

ACTION STEP

Long before the first day of school, begin to prepare your children’s hearts by speaking the truth of Gods word over them and to them.

Say words like this…
This is going to be the best year you have ever had. God promises in:
-Psalm 34:11 He is going to teach you to fear him, and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, Proverbs 9:10. God’s wisdom is going to bring long life, riches, and honor, Proverbs 3:16.
-Psalm 5:12 He is going to surround you with divine favor, just like he did with Daniel and Joseph. People are going to favor you.
-Proverbs 27:17 He is going to bring you great godly friends, friends that will help you and tell you the truth.
-2 Timothy 1:7 He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

-2 Corinthians 2:16 You have the mind of Christ.

-James 1:5 You have the wisdom of God.

Yes, this is without a doubt going to be your best year ever!!
