PRAY TOGETHER

It’s important to pray together as a couple. There is an incredible bonding that takes place when you do. A soul tie happens that causes intimacy to grow in your relationship.

That doesn’t mean things will be perfect. But when you are committed to seeking God together and using His Word as the rulebook for your lives, you are on the right path to a building a great marriage.

Praying together doesn’t have to be a big ordeal. You don’t need to light candles, hum, or hold hands. Sometimes you may ask your spouse, “Hey, can you come here for just a second? Let’s pray about this real quick.” And the whole process takes 30 seconds. There are other times where you may plan a longer time to pray together. But never overlook the quick moments to get in agreement over an immediate situation, such as wisdom to make a decision, or favor as you’re leaving for a job interview. There is nothing too small or too big that you can’t pray in agreement over.

THE TAKE AWAY

Make it a habit to pray with each other and for each other. Keep a prayer list of specific things you pray about together on a routine basis. Watching God answer those prayers will be a rewarding part of your marriage and will give you something to celebrate together!
