There’s a scripture in 3 John 4 (KJV) that says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” This describes the heart of a good mom.
One of a mom’s greatest joys is to know that her children are doing well in every area of their lives. A mom’s natural instinct is to be a nurturer. Nurture means the process of caring for and encouraging the growth or development of someone or something.

Mommas want to see their babies grow up and develop into something good and successful. That’s why, at times, it seems like moms are constantly getting onto their kids: “Pick up your clothes. Brush your teeth. Did you do your homework? Eat your broccoli.” They want the best for their kids, and that’s why good mommas give so much of themselves to serve and sacrifice every single day.
One of a momma’s greatest rewards is to see her kids walk in the truths she’s tried to teach and drill into them for the first 18 years of their lives. Mommas want to know that all of their hard work paid off.
They want to see their kids grow up to be responsible, respectful, considerate, successful, hard-working adults. And when that happens, let me tell you; that’s one happy momma!
THE TAKE AWAY
Don’t quit, moms! You’re doing a great job! It may seem like you’re banging your head against a wall trying to train those kids and that they’re just not getting it. But trust God’s Word that says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6 KJV). That’s God’s promise to YOU! Hold on to that, momma, and don’t let go!
