When it comes to families, there’s a scripture in the Bible that says, “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever” (1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV).

That’s a powerful scripture that can really put some conviction on you! No matter where you live and no matter how many children you have, it takes a substantial amount of money to run a household today.

My wife and I have six kids, so we had a household full of consumers. It took a lot of money for us to live. However, once we realized we needed to take the time to find out what God says about finances in His Word and then taken steps to do what He says, we always saw God take care of us and provide for us.

God’s Word says: “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing” (Psalm 37:25-26 NIV).

Realize that as a born again Christians, God is our Father, which means we are in His family. God would never tell us to do something He wouldn’t do Himself. He has instructed us to provide for our families, which means that He, as our Father, will also provide for us!

REMEMBER: Learn what the promises of God are…

THE TAKE AWAY

Raising a family was God’s idea and it takes money, which means God has a plan for our money. Let’s get into His Word and find out what He promises, then thank Him daily for those!
