Four Things to Pray Daily For Our Children
Father, I thank you for my children and I ask according to Your Word…
1.) That You would teach my children and me to fear You because that is the beginning of wisdom.
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Psalm 34:11 (NIV)
2.) That they would walk in divine favor.
Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield. Psalm 5:12 (NIV)
3.) That they would have godly friends.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 (KJV)
4.) That You would create a spirit of unity in our family. Make us one together as You and Jesus are one.
“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. John 17:22-23 (NASB)
I pray these things for my kids and my family in Jesus’ name, and I give You all the praise, honor and glory for bringing it to pass in their lives. Amen.
A Parent’s Commitment Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to You and I confess that as a parent, I can do nothing without Jesus, but that with Him all things are possible.
The enemy has come as the accuser of the brethren to make me feel guilty for doing things I should not have done and for failing to do the things I should have done as a parent. He has tried to make me feel guilty for saying things to my children I shouldn’t have said and failing to say the things I should have.
I ask You now, according to 1 John 1:9, to forgive me of any sins I have committed against You, against my family, against my fellow man or even against my own flesh. I thank You for washing me clean by the blood of Jesus, and for taking my sins from me as far as the east is from the west.
I refuse to let the devil hold me in the past any longer.
Father, give me wisdom as a parent to train up my child in the way he should go.
Thank You for Your Word and the confidence I have in knowing that when I pray according to Your Word, You hear me, and when You hear me, I have what I have prayed.
