Men’s Event at Camp Dry Gulch USA

Success is an often-used word in today’s society, especially by men. Every man wants to be successful.

Successful men are those who have learned to develop and manage all three areas of life. But what happens if we were not taught what true success is or how to achieve it? What if we left home without the skills to develop a career, to stay happily married, or to make responsible decisions? Are we left to struggle through life unfulfilled?

Not hardly!

Growing Up Together

Have you ever asked your children, “When are you going to grow up?” Were you ever asked that question as a child?

Many times we want our children to do something, but we haven’t given them the full picture. It’s important to share what we use to measure growing up by (God’s Word) and what guide we use to achieve it (again, God’s Word).

If we want our children to grow up, it’s important to make that a family event.

Families that grow up together, grow closer together!

Why is Family Important?

Depending on the day you may be thanking God for your family or asking Him why He put you in the family He did.

Whether it feels like it or not, it’s a blessing to be part of a family. We grow and learn by being around others. Whether or not you’re married, God desires all of us to be part of His family.

Building Healthy Blended Families

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth” (Genesis 1:27-28 KJV).

God’s plan for humanity is that a man and a woman come together as husband and wife, raise godly seed, and build a strong family and a successful life. The problem is that we have an enemy whose goal is to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10).

At the top of his list of things to destroy are marriages and families.  Blended families can feel an extra strain because of the unique circumstances they may be facing with ex-spouses, children, etc. As a result, one of the biggest challenges of divorce or remarriage is building a healthy “blended family.”

Raising the “Getting-Back-Up” Child

Did you know that your kids can help your family grow stronger, make you happy, and bring honor to your family name? God’s Word says it’s possible.

I know when I first heard this, I asked, “Do you mean MY kids? The ones who just flunked algebra? The ones who let the air out of the tires just to feel the wind on their faces? The ones who broke the window trying to throw rocks over the house? Do you mean those kids?”

Yes, those kids!

If we, as parents, fear the Lord and obey His Word, our seed (our children) will be mighty upon this planet (Psalm 112). God’s Word also tells us that our children are a reward from God, that they can bring us great joy (Psalm 127:3-5). The kind of reward they bring us depends on us teaching and training them according to the Word of God.
