There is an old saying that we act the way we act because we think the way we think. That’s what God’s Word tells us too!

Mind of Christ

THE HEART AND THE MIND

Proverbs tells us that as a man thinks in his heart so is he and to guard our heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 23:7; 4:23).

We are also told to renew our mind with the Word of God so as not to be conformed to this world. (Romans 12:2)  It’s important to know what the Word says, so we can put it into action in our daily lives.

Remind yourself today that (according to 1 Corinthians 2:16) as a child of God, you have the mind of Christ! According to Psalm 32:8, He promises to guide you along your path and when you ask for wisdom, He will give it to you (James 1:5).

 THE ACTION STEP

If we want to act more like Christ, we need to feed on (read and study) and obey His Word. It’s not enough to be hearers. We need to be doers.

But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. James 1:22 NLT

START BY THANKING GOD

Start today! You don’t have to know every scripture in the Bible to begin obeying God. Act on what you know now and continue to study.

A great scripture to pray is Philippians 2:13 (NLT), which says: For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

A simple way to start is by thanking God. Just say, ” Father, I thank you that according to Your Word in Philippians 2:13, you are giving me both the desire and the power to do what pleases You.”
