It’s an honor to be a grandparent and to see your children now as parents.
Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. Proverbs 17:6
However, just because your children are grown with children of their own doesn’t mean your work is finished.
There are so many things that grandparents do, but this is one of the most important things that any grandparent could do:
Share what God has done for you and your family with your grandchildren.
WHAT GOD’S WORD SAYS
– Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4:9 NIV
– Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! 1 Chronicles 16:8 ESV
– Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble. Psalm 107:2 ESV
Share your testimony and your stories with your grandchildren. This is a heritage they need to know about. Your stories of answered prayer, stories of victory through trials, and stories of God’s faithfulness will help encourage your entire family. Once you’ve told them, keep on telling them.
