A key to being effective and successful in life is sleep.
Out of a 24-hour day, we will spend one-third of that time sleeping. If God designed us to spend that much time sleeping, then it must be important.
We’ve all been around young children who were tired because they didn’t get their afternoon nap or a full night’s sleep. As a result, they were irritable and hard to deal with. We need to teach our kids the importance of sleep, and one way to do this is by putting some time and effort into their bedrooms.
Don’t run out and buy a cheap mattress and bedroom furniture. Put it on a prayer list and start believing God for the money to buy some good quality furniture. Our kids shouldn’t be sleeping with toys, dirty shoes, and video games piled all over their beds with three dogs wrapped around their feet.
We need to clear those things off and get our children used to sleeping in an orderly place. Otherwise, they’ll wake up unrested, cranky, and frustrated.
When your kids sleep well and are rested, they’ll wake up more energetic and will perform better throughout the day.
The Take Away:
Invest time and money into your kids’ bedrooms. Their bedrooms need to be places that are organized and not full of clutter, places where they can go to get rested and get good sleep.
