There’s no question about it, life can get extremely hectic. However, God has given us keys that will enable us to manage our lives and help us overcome the pressures of life.
One of those keys is wise planning. Proverbs 24:3-4 (TLB) says, “Any enterprise (life, family, business, etc.) is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts.”
Without wise planning, we will succumb to the stress and pressure of everyday life. Wise planning requires getting a vision and writing down goals. Luke 14:28-30 (NIV) says, “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’”
Planning is a biblical principle. Proverbs 21:5 (NLT) says, “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” Don’t take a backseat and let life just happen as it will; take the time to plan your life!
THE TAKE AWAY
Through wise planning we can better manage our lives and overcome the pressures life brings. Wise planning involves getting a vision and writing down goals. Begin by writing a daily plan, a to-do list. Also, take time to write a weekly, monthly, yearly, and even a five-year plan. Write down goals and actions necessary to accomplish specific projects that are on your to-do list.
You’ll be amazed at how the more organized you become, the more productive you will be! Don’t let life just happen to you; manage your time and your tasks. Plan your life!
