“Be not faithless, but believing…blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed” (John 20:27, 29 KJV).
Jesus talked about faith a lot! Why? Because without it you can’t please God. God’s a faith God. Everything He does is by faith.
In Genesis, He spoke the world into existence by faith. Everything you see around you in nature was created by faith—the oceans, the stars, the trees, all the plants and animals—everything, including man!
So faith is a big deal to God. He wants us to have some because we need it to become born again and to be overcomers in this life. It takes faith to walk in all the promises that God has spoken to us in His Word because there’s opposition from the devil telling us that God’s Word isn’t true, or maybe it’s true, but it’s just not for you.
If you’re weak in faith, you’ll accept the devil’s lies. Even though you’re born again and have authority over the devil, he still will try to bluff you and keep you from walking in God’s blessings. And if you’re weak in faith, you’re a prime target!
The devil is attracted to those who are weak in faith. The Bible says he walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He can’t devour you when you’re strong in faith because when you’re strong in faith, you know what the Word says, and you’ll resist him, and he’ll have to flee.
If we’re going to live a victorious life on this earth, walking in the covenant we have with our Father God, we need to know how to live by faith because by faith is how God operates, and it’s how He created us to operate.
The Take Away:
Be proactive in growing your faith. Read Deuteronomy 28:1-14 to find out the blessings that God has given to you. Don’t let the devil bluff you out of your blessing! Stand in faith on God’s Word and believe that all of these blessings will come on you and overtake you!
