To increase according to God’s principles, we must walk in two different spiritual principles.
One of those principles is obedience. God’s Word says in Isaiah 1:19, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” Eating the good of the land means all of our bills paid and we have money left over in our checking account at the end of the month.
The other spiritual principle we must walk in is faith. Faith is the currency of God’s economy. The Bible says that without faith, it’s impossible to please God. How do we get faith? The Bible says that faith comes from God’s Word: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
The more we take time to read and meditate on the Word of God, and find out what He says belongs to us as part of our covenant with Him, the more we will grow in our faith. If you know what God has said belongs to you, then you can have faith to believe that He will provide those things for you.
The Take Away:
If we want to live in prosperity—having good cars to drive, a nice house to live in, a stocked refrigerator, all of our bills paid and finances left over to be able to bless others—we must walk in obedience to God. And we must also have faith in Him to provide for us and cause us to eat the good of the land!
