God established natural laws on this planet that will not change and will continue to operate as long as the earth exists.
“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease” (Genesis 8:22 NIV).
He also established spiritual laws that will not change as long as we are on this planet. One of those laws is the law of giving. “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom” (Luke 6:38 KJV).
To walk in God’s blessing, we need to realize that not only do we operate in this world’s natural economy, but as Christians, we also operate in Heaven’s economy. This world’s economy stresses the importance of getting everything you can and by any means you can, holding onto it as tight as you can, and not letting go of it. Heaven’s economy stresses the importance of following God’s commandments, living by faith, and giving.
Bottom line, the world’s system doesn’t operate like God’s. It hoards up, and it’s fearful. However, God told Abraham, “I want to bless you, so I can make you a blessing” (Genesis 12:2-3, paraphrased). God expects the righteous to be as bold as a lion, to live by faith, to walk in His blessing, and to be givers!
The Take Away:
God has plans to bless and prosper us, but He also wants us to be givers and to be a blessing to others.
