Great amounts of money won’t deliver us if we don’t have prosperity in our souls.
How many times have we heard about someone who won the lottery or received a large sum of money in an inheritance, and within a short time afterward they lost it all, got divorced, and went bankrupt?
We have to realize that our current financial condition is not a result of the assets we have or don’t have; it’s a result of our current financial thinking. Being broke is a state of mind. If we don’t have a prosperous soul, we won’t have a prosperous bank account.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest proper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3 John 2 KJV).
The financial condition we have now is a result of the way we think. Proverbs 23:7 talks about how “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” If we want to step up to another level in our finances, we will have to change the way we think. Meditating on what God says about finances will help us change our thinking.
