To get a vision for your life, you first have to believe that God has a plan specifically designed for you.
A lot of people live by the motto, “Well, this is just the hand life dealt me,” and they just settle for whatever comes their way, never realizing God has a great plan for them. You can have confidence that He has a plan for your life because in the book of Psalms it says that His plan for each of us was written in a book before we were ever born.
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:16 NLT).
Imagine that! God was thinking about you and the vision for your life before you were even born! He also said His plans for you are great and mighty—not plans that will harm you, but plans that will prosper you and give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). This scripture was a note from God to a group of people who had just been taken captive. Their families and homes were destroyed. They were taken to a foreign land as captives and things were looking hopeless.
God’s message was essentially telling them that— while they may have gotten themselves into a mess by their disobedience that wasn’t part of His plan for them. His plans for them were for good. He was telling them not to be discouraged because He still had a good future for them, even in the face of what has happened. That same principle is true for you.
God has good plans for you!

The Take Away:
Be confident in the fact that God has a specific plan and vision for your life. Search out and meditate on scriptures that speak about the good plans He has for you. Speak those scriptures over yourself and your family and declare, “God has great and mighty plans for me and my family! His plans are good. They’re plans that will give us hope and cause us to prosper. He has a great future in store for us!”
