When it comes to finances, we need to examine our attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors because poverty originates in our souls—not in our bank accounts.
There are basically two categories people live in financially—BLESSED or BROKE. To be broke means you’re insolvent, you’re bankrupt, or simply that your debts outweigh your assets. God wants us to live on the blessed side, not the broke side.
To get out of the broke category, we need a new way of thinking. Romans 12:2 (KJV) says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
When I got born again, my spirit became a new creature in Christ, but my mind still had old thoughts. Spiritually, old things passed away and all things were made new (1 Corinthians 5:17), but my soul (my mind, and my way of thinking) became my responsibility. God said, “I’m going to save your spirit, Joe, but your soul is your responsibility.”
God gave us His Word so that we can find out how He thinks and think like Him. God’s way of thinking is prosperity and blessing, not poverty and being broke! Let’s renew our minds to think like God and get out of BROKE and into BLESSING!
The Take Away:
Raising a family was God’s idea and it takes money, which means God has a plan for our money. Let’s get into His Word and find out what He promises, then thank Him daily for those!
