Be generous and teach your children the principle of generosity.
Proverbs 11:24-25 (NLT) says, “Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” Let’s represent God well and go the extra mile—give extra money, give extra time, give an extra smile, put a little extra life into somebody.
Great ways to raise children to be generous adults:
Train your kids to be givers. Most kids have an over-abundance of toys that haven’t been touched in months. Have them pick out toys to give away and not the broken ones. Teach them that if they want to receive the best, they need to give their best.
Successfully raising children to be givers means that they need to have a relationship with their Heavenly Father. When you have a source, it’s easier to be a giver.
The Take Away
Do something extra to bless someone today! Bring your children in on the process and you’ll also be planting a seed in them towards raising a generous adult.
