We’re living in some pretty crazy times.

The news headlines are constantly filled with tragedies. If we’re not careful, we’ll start walking in fear without even realizing it, and that’s just what the devil wants to happen. We’ll be afraid to go to movie theaters, the mall, or travel on airlines—the list goes on. The devil would like nothing better than to have fear running rampant everywhere on this planet.

But Jesus gave us a “heads-up” to let us know what to expect so we don’t fall into the devil’s traps. Jesus said in the last days men’s hearts would fail them for fear (Luke 21:26). That means we need to be constantly reading God’s Word and filling our hearts with faith so we can overcome everything the devil throws at us.

I teach seminars all over the country, and I’ve had a number of people come up to me and ask, “I go to church, say my prayers, and pay my tithe, why do I have so much hell in my life?”

I reply, “Because you’re still here living on this planet, and the devil is the temporary god of this planet.”

The tests and trials of life will come to everybody. Nobody is immune. The devil does not play fair. He is an equal opportunity hater. But remember, he’s just a big bully! He may act big and talk big, but God’s Word is bigger, and Jesus has already whipped him!

Jesus said, “In the world, ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 KJV).

Don’t let all the crazy stuff that’s going on around you pull you into fear. Stand up, declare God’s Word, and walk in faith knowing God’s going to take care of you!

The Take Away:

Stay strong in faith by taking time daily to build yourself up in God’s Word. Also, take time to pray in the Holy Ghost. Jude 20 says, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Meditate on faith scriptures like Mark 11:23-24 and         1 John 5:14-15. When adversity comes, knowing what God’s Word says will hold you steady.
