There’s something special about good moms.
They will do everything they can to take care of and protect their kids. Everyone knows not to mess with a “she-bear” and her cubs.
A “he-bear” could go walking through the woods and see another he-bear, and he’ll stop and stare at him for a minute sizing him up. He’ll think, Can I whip him? I don’t think so. And then he’ll walk around him to avoid a fight.
On the other hand, if a she-bear comes walking through the woods and a he-bear comes between her and her cubs and poses a threat, she will not hesitate for a second! She won’t stop to size him up. She’ll immediately charge him. It doesn’t matter how big or ferocious that he-bear is; she will lay down her life to protect her cubs! That’s why you always hear the warnings about she-bears and not he-bears.
There’s a scripture in John 15:13 (NIV) that says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
I think this scripture also best describes what it means to be a mom. In a lotof cases, we could say, “There’s no greater love than the love of a mom who daily lays down her life for her children.”
One of the greatest examples of God’s love is a good momma who faithfully sacrifices and lays down her life on a daily basis to take care of her kids.
Thank God for good mommas!
The Take Away:
Moms are one of the greatest expressions and examples of God’s love. You may not think your daily acts of laying down your life are noticed or appreciated, but God sees all of them. There is coming a day when you will reap the benefits of all the sacrifices and investments you have sown into your children’s lives. Hold fast to Psalm 112:1-2, “How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.”
