THE MIRACLE OF FAMILY
Take three or four children (or more) and two adults, each having their own unique set of gifts and personalities, put them all under one roof and have them dwell together in unity.
That is the miracle we call family.
It takes a lot of work to keep peace and unity in a home. The devil’s main tactic is to divide and conquer. For example, the simple task of getting everyone ready to go to church, or to a ballgame, or out to eat can become a huge, stressful event that the devil will try to use to divide and conquer. As parents, we must keep a constant vigil to make sure we don’t allow him to do so (1 Peter 5:8).
Each household has it’s own unique needs and rules because each family is unique. God has gifted you and your children specifically and placed you together. Don’t let tough times tear you apart. Ask God for wisdom to help keep your family together and dwelling together in unity.
THE TAKE AWAY
Keeping peace in the home takes a lot of work and constant vigil, but in those rare and precious moments when things are quiet and settled, we would all admit that we wouldn’t trade this miracle called “family” for anything else in the world. (Psalm 133:1 NLT).
PRAYER FOR YOUR FAMILY
Father, I thank you for my family and for the gifts You’ve given us. I ask for wisdom to help my family dwell together peacefully. I want unity in my home, not just as members of the Body of Christ, but as a family. I’ve seen lots of homes destroyed by strife. I don’t want that. I want my family to be a family of unity. No division. No strife. I ask for Your help to find solutions to problems without tearing the family apart. Help me develop ways for us to fellowship and enjoy each other. I thank that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and for the wisdom that You’ve said You’d give me in your Word! In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen!
