There’s a quote that says, “A vision without a plan is just a wish.”
There are a lot of people who have a vision but have no idea how to get it to come to pass. They think that their part is to get the vision, and then it’s up to God to somehow bring it to pass. They think all they’re supposed to do is speak good confessions over their vision, and then sit back and wait for God to make it happen. But that’s not how it works—not only do you need to have a vision, but you also need to have a plan.
Here’s how it works. The Bible says you commit your works to God, and God will establish your thoughts (Proverbs 16:3 KJV); you make your plans, and God will order your steps (Proverbs 16:9 AMPC). When you step out in faith and do your part first, then God is always faithful to do His part.
So, the first thing you need to do is pray and commit your works to God. “God, I commit my works to You. I believe this is the vision You have for my life. I’ve written it down, and I’m committing it to You. Thank You for establishing my thoughts and showing me the steps that I need to take so this vision can come to pass. Here are some steps I can see that I need to take in the natural, but I also know that You said You’d order my steps. So, I’m looking to You to show me other steps I need to take. I know that I hear Your voice because Your Spirit lives in me, and He’s going to guide me. Thank You for giving me wisdom and insight as I walk out the plan to accomplish this vision.”
Then start moving forward and do the first step you know to do. Then do the next step, and the next, and the next. This is how you accomplish your vision!
Vision Buster:
A vision without a plan is just a wish that will never come to pass.
Vision Builder:
If you want the vision God has for you to come to pass, you have to get a plan and take steps. God won’t do it for you. You have to step out in faith and do your part; then He’ll do His part.
The Take Away:
Once you have a clear vision written down, pray over it and commit it to God. Ask Him to show you the steps that you need to take to begin walking it out. Write those steps down, and then do them. Step by step, God will help you walk out the vision in your heart.
