The world is always lying to you. You will hear how hopeless everything is. You will be told stories of people just like you who bit the dust and didn’t get up. But don’t feed on that!
Say what God’s Word says: “A thousand may fall on one side of us and ten thousand on the other side, but it won’t come near us! I don’t care what it looks like; God’s Word says that no evil shall come near our dwelling. ” (Author’s paraphrase, see Ps. 91:7,10)
In Luke 6, Jesus spoke about two kinds of houses: those built on the rock and those built on the sand. When our house is built on the rock of the Lord Jesus Christ, that doesn’t make us immune from life and its’ circumstances; however, the Word tells us that even though the storms of life can beat vehemently against our house, it will not fall. That’s great news!
“He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house and could not shake or move it, because it had been securely built or [a]founded on a rock.” (Luke 6:47,48 AMP)
God never said the storms wouldn’t come. As He said through the prophet Isaiah:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” (Isaiah 43:2 NKJV)
No matter what circumstance you encounter today or this week, know that God will never leave you, nor forsake you. Know that His promises are the truth. He doesn’t change. He doesn’t lie. You can trust Him and rely on His Word.
