There’s no doubt about it, we live in a “selfie” world.

We’re inundated with selfie posts, selfie pics, and you can even buy “selfie sticks” in almost every store. In a culture that constantly promotes self, we need to be careful that we don’t develop a proud, self-centered attitude.

The Bible warns us that in the last days people will be lovers of themselves, boastful, proud, and ungrateful, just to name a few (2 Timothy 3:1). We see a lot of that happening in the world today. But that’s where we Christians come in!

As Christians, we can make a huge impact on this world by doing things differently and walking in humility. God has a lot to say about being humble.

James 4:6 (NLT) says, “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t want God opposing me! I want to walk in his favor. So that means I need to have some humility about me.

The Bible also says God will “crown the humble with victory” (Psalm 149:4 NIV). Do you want to have victory in life? Then, be humble. Prefer others before yourself. Philippians 2:3 (ESV) says, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

Let’s make a difference on this planet and walk in humility! Not only will it impact the world around you, but it will bring God’s favor and blessing on your life.
