Valentine’s Day is a time when love is on most everyone’s mind.
There are roses and heart-shaped chocolate boxes filling the aisles of every store for at least one more day.
But it’s important to remember that love is a 365 day event. God has given us clear instructions on what we need to do when it comes to love:
And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
This is your purpose — to love God and to love people. Everything else you do should line up with this command.
Don’t let the busyness of life make you lose your focus on this. Don’t let the needs of our own To-Do lists take priority over God’s purposes in our life. And the best part about this command is that you don’t have to wait until you’re perfect; you can start today!
