“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it” (Habakkuk 2:2 KJV).

In today’s busy world, a lack of organizational skills can drive you crazy! Have you ever felt this way?

Parenting isn't easy, but it is rewarding

[ If so, keep reading…]

Most people are running at breakneck speed trying to keep up with jobs, kids, activities, church, family events, as well as everyday household chores. To keep things running smoothly, we have to plan and have a calendar and a system to keep track of details like, who’s going where? Who needs to be dropped off or picked up? How much money do they need when they go? Does she need a new dress for that? Are you supposed to take a dish or some chips?

If we’re not organized, we’ll just start forgetting things. Oh, I forgot to do this. I forgot to pay that bill. I forgot I was supposed to be at that event. Our brains can only hold so much information. That’s why it’s important to organize your thoughts and write things down.

Running a family is like running a business. And I don’t know of any successful businessperson that doesn’t keep some type of a calendar or planner. If we want to minimize our stress and keep our lives running smoothly, we have to develop organizational skills.

THE TAKE AWAY

Teach your kids to be organized and to write things down. Have a family calendar where everyone is responsible for writing down the times for their own activities, appointments, and deadlines. Organizational skills will keep your child sane as they go through life. It will keep them happy and well adjusted.
