There’s an old saying, “Marriage is forever, children are just passing through.” This statement is so true.
I’ll always be Dad to my kids, and we’ll always have a relationship.
However, as their dad, the most important thing I need to do is make sure my children are ready to go out into the world and do whatever God has called them to do.
Twenty years may seem like a long time, but it’s really not. Our time with our kids at home is so short, and we have so much to put into them before the time comes that they leave home to start their own families.
Genesis 2:24 (KJV) says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: ad they shall be one flesh.”
Our children are supposed to grow up and leave home in order to cleave to their mates. We need to spend quality time loving and teaching them, and we need to give them the things they need to be successful when they leave home.

There are many things our children need to learn, but here are eight traits that will help make them successful in their life.
