The Bible is the greatest book on financial security that’s ever been written.
It’s full of examples that demonstrate how God gives great rewards to those who are willing to take responsibility.
The first Adam did not take responsibility in any of the things God gave him to do. His job was to keep and cultivate the Garden of Eden and protect his family, but he didn’t do it. Adam got fired from his job because he was disobedient, and he rejected his responsibility.
Jesus, the Second Adam, took all the responsibility His Father gave Him, and He accomplished His work of redemption. Because Jesus accepted His responsibility, He is now seated at the right hand of the Father with a Name that is above every name!
According to 1 Timothy 5:8 (NKJV), God has given us the responsibility to provide for our families. However, if He has given us this responsibility, then there is a way for us to do it and in such a way that we don’t stress ourselves out, burning the candle at both ends.
Jesus said, “Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you” (Matthew 11:29-30 MSG).
The Take Away:
God has given us the responsibility of providing for our families. If we’ll study His Word, He’ll give us wisdom on how to increase financially so that we have more than enough to take care of our families and leave an inheritance to our children.
