One of the most special things about moms is their undying hope in their children. Next to Jesus, Moms are probably the most forgiving people on the planet when it comes to their kids.
Their grown child might be in jail for some horrendous crime, but momma will keep believing in them and keep hoping for the best. Smart mommas will wear holes in the carpet praying for their kids.
Kids who have good, praying moms know this. That’s why when they get in trouble one of the first things they’ll do is call home and say, “Momma, pray. Momma, please pray.” They may not be saved, but they know Momma knows God! And they know God hears Momma’s prayers!
Of all people, mommas know best that their kids aren’t perfect. Some may not admit it, but they know! They’ve seen the good and bad behavior. They’ve corrected, encouraged, disciplined, protected, and nurtured their children all the way to adulthood. And no matter what happens, good mommas never give up on their kids. They believe in them and are always there for them.
Moms, you may be going through a hard time with your kids, but don’t give up on them.
They may make dumb choices, but just keep praying for them and don’t ever stop. Trust in God’s saving and keeping power and be confident that God hears your prayers.
THE TAKE AWAY
Moms, this is my prayer for you today: “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13 NLT).
