“Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom” (Psalm 111:10 NLT).
Do you want to have wisdom? Then, fear God. That means respect, reverence, and honor Him. God is always right.

If you think something is supposed to be a certain way, but God thinks the opposite, know this—God’s right and you’re wrong. When you fear (respect, reverence, and honor) God, you’ll always stay on God’s side.
The Bible says that fearing God is the beginning of wisdom. Why? Because when you respect God, you’ll respect His Word.

When you respect His Word, you’ll do His Word and keep His commandments. When you do His Word and keep His commandments, you’ll prosper and be a success. People will look at you and say, “There’s a guy that has some wisdom. Look at how successful and blessed he is.” But it all starts with fearing (respecting, reverencing, and honoring) God.
It’s just smart to stay on God’s side because God always wins. Two of the greatest revelations you can have in life is that God is always right, and God always wins. If you want to win in life, then walk in wisdom by respecting and honoring God.

You can grow in respect for God by spending time in His Word. Take time to read through Psalm chapter 119. This is a great chapter that talks about loving God and respecting His Word. “I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches. I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word” (Psalm 119:14-16 NLT).
