Parents, if we want our kids to have a good life, then we have to teach them to fear the Lord.
Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Wisdom is what will cause your children to live a rich, successful life. But they won’t get wisdom unless they fear the Lord.
To fear the Lord means to be completely submitted to God’s Word, knowing that what God has said is true and will come to pass. In Deuteronomy chapter 28, God tells us specifically what will happen if we do His Word, but He also tells us what will happen if we don’t do His Word. He won’t make us do it. The choice is up to us.
Realize this; God is smarter than we are. He knows the end from the beginning. John 1:3 (KJV) says, “All things were made by him; without him was not anything made that was made.”
God has our best interests at heart, and He wants us to win at life. He knows what works and what doesn’t work and that’s why He has given us specific commandments and instructions in His Word. He’s like a teacher that gives his students a multiple choice test but also gives them all the correct answers. When you take the test, you can choose whichever answer you want, but if you want to pass, the smart thing to do is choose the answers the Teacher gave you.
Submit to God’s Word and do what He says and you’ll have a great life!
