Abraham was one of the wealthiest and most blessed people in the Bible. The two keys that made him that way were trust and obedience to God.

Reading through the Bible, you’ll find a lot of people that God blessed because they trusted and obeyed Him, even when they didn’t see the whole picture.

Abraham was that kind of guy. God spoke to him one day and said, “I want you to pack up and move. I know you’re comfortable here. I know that all of your friends and your kids’ friends are here, but I’ve got something a whole lot better for you. In order for Me to really bless and prosper you, I need for you to move to the place I show you.”

Abraham didn’t hesitate. He trusted God and said, “OK, God. I’m in!”

Abraham packed up his family and headed out. And because of his obedience, God blessed him. Genesis 12:1 (NIV) says, “Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.”

God wants to bless us and increase us, but we have to be prepared to move and the take steps He tells us. If we will trust and obey, He will always lead us to places where we will experience increase, and we’ll be well-taken care of!

THE TAKE AWAY

Confess this: “The Lord is my shepherd. I will always have everything I need. He gives me green pastures to lie in. He leads me by calm pools of water. He restores my strength. He leads me on right paths to show that he is good” (Psalm 23:1-3 ERV).
