Unity means the state of being united or joined as a whole.
Today, we celebrate Independence Day and remember how we became the United States of America.
Being united—especially as a family—is important. In fact, more unity, harmony, peace, and togetherness were at the top of the list when we asked families to share their goals for 2017.
Jesus even gave us a great example of praying for unity. (See below)
We won’t become one overnight. It takes purposeful effort to have unity in a marriage, in a family, and a country, but it’s worth the effort!
Growing Closer as a Family:
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one– as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” – John 17:21 NLT
The Take Away:
Ask God to help make you and your family one just as He and God are. You have a part to play in that but start by seeking God. He’ll show you how to grow up and grow closer together!
