One of the most important things you can teach your kids is how to walk by faith.
If I had to make a list of the top 10 things I consider to be the most important to tell my children, these would be at the top:
- You better get yourself some faith.
- I love you.
- I’m proud of you.
- You better get yourself some faith.
Faith comes from one place—through hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). If you’re not reading your Bible, you will have zero faith. It’s as simple as that.
The Bible talks about different levels of faith. There’s no faith, weak faith, little faith, and great faith. Faith can fluctuate like a water level. You can fill a bowl full of water, and the level will go down as it evaporates. But when you add more water to it, the level will rise again. That level is moving all the time. It’s the same with faith. If you’re not using your faith, it’ll grow weak. But if you keep feeding it and using it, it’ll stay strong and can even grow stronger and become great faith. In Luke 7:9 Jesus marveled at the centurion’s great faith and said, “I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”
Faith is really important, so we better learn what it is, how to get it, how to keep it, and how to grow it. Let’s keep our faith level rising and become people of great faith!

The Take Away:
The “Grow in Faith Challenge”: Do you have a goal? What scriptures from the Word can you apply to that goal? In what way can you act on God’s Word and apply it, using your faith, to reach a specific goal? Read James 1:5 about asking God for wisdom. Read Mark 11:23-24 to strengthen your faith.
