When it comes to finances and living a successful life, God’s Word gives us some pretty sound wisdom: “Even while we were still there with you, we gave you this rule: “He who does not work shall not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10 TLB).
There are two important keys to being successful—work and faith. The Bible says without faith we can’t please God (Hebrews 11:6). It also says that faith without works is dead (James 2:20). So we need to trust God, and we need jobs.
Two of the primary ways we will generate income is to be paid for what we know or to be paid for what we do. If we’re going to prosper, we’re going to have to find something, a gift or a tool, that we can use to generate income.
Recognizing our gifts and finding out what we’re called to do can cause us to increase our income. If we want to get paid more, we’ve got to step out in faith and do something to increase our value. Everyone can start out making minimum wage. However, learning new skills, taking classes, and taking on more responsibility are all things that will add value to you and increase your earning potential. That’s how we’re going to provide for our families and prosper.
Take Away:
Increasing our level of income will require us to take some natural steps. Be ready to use your faith to learn a new skill, take a class, take on more responsibility, or step out into a business venture.
